December 5, 2023 End of Prohibition 90th Anniversary!

"Extra, extra!” The big news is Sloppy Joe’s celebration of the 90th anniversary of the end of Prohibition was a grand time. Stepping through the doors of Sloppy Joe’s December 3rd-5th was like stepping back into 1933, that pivotal moment when we could legally raise a glass again. Staff and customers alike adorned themselves in their finest attire, dancing and rejoicing to the fantastic musical stylings of Marjorie Lee, Hiram & Henry, Brian Roberts, Marty Stonley, The Prime Movers, Jerico, Topher Brown, and the Family Business Band. Even Joe’s Tap Room transformed into an old speakeasy, featuring Brand Ambassadors from Papa’s Pilar Rum and Patron Reposado, offering customers an exclusive glimpse into famed 1930s era cocktails through Mixology presentations. Hosts DJ Sanaris and Landon Bradbary ensured the party thrived, treating the crowd to numerous giveaways thanks to our partners at Anheuser-Busch, Papa’s Pilar Rum, and Patron. It was an incredible time for everyone, and we eagerly await your presence in December 2024 for next year's End of Prohibition celebration!

Papa's Pilar Rum Launches Sloppy Joe's Blonde Reserve Rum

On December 4, 2023, Sloppy Joe's along with Papa's Pilar Rum threw a swanky party at their Key West Hemingway Social Club to celebrate the release of their new Sloppy Joe's Blonde Reserve Rum. The rum distillery and the Hemingway Social Club were alive with excitement, delicious food, while the sultry sounds of Claire and Channing Quartet filled the air. The event also hosted a friendly competition of various new Sloppy Joe's Blonde Reserve Rum cocktails created by our very own Sloppy Joe's bartenders, vying for the title and prestige of having their cocktail added to the Sloppy Joe's menu.

'Caturday Earmark Campaign'

The Sloppy Joe’s Foundation launched November with its 'Caturday Earmark Campaign.' Every month, the foundation will collaborate with a chosen community non-profit, dedicating funds raised on Caturdays throughout the month to support that organization. November featured the Sister Season Fund, which raised over $3,700 to assist those in the Key West service industry in need.

These partnerships aim to raise awareness and funds for those in need within Key West, one pair of ears at a time. December's Caturdays are focused on several children's charities and food pantries.

Artist Spotlight: Noah Robertson and Kaira Jayde

Artist Spotlight | Noah Robertson & Kaira Jayde

Sloppy Joe’s has always been known to have some of the best musicians and live bands around. Some of these musicians have graced our stage & entertained the masses for over 2 decades, yet we also have amazing younger talent coming up through our ranks. Two of these incredible musicians our Australian Native Noah Robertson & Key West’s very own Kaira Jayde.

13-year-old Noah Robertson is a musical prodigy and has already won numerous awards, including the 2023 ACMF Winner & 2022 Australian National Busking Champion. Growing up sailing the Caribbean & Mediterranean with his family, he picked up a guitar barefoot on a boat in the Bahamas when he was 8 years old and has been inseparable ever since. Once the family docked back in Australia for good, Noah began busking beachside at outdoor markets. He is truly astonishing and should not be missed when in Key West. Noah will be performing select dates in December & January.

Kaira Jayde, 17 & Key West’s Youngest Professional Musician, can be seen at Sloppy Joe’s year-round, usually performing on Saturday mornings so she can keep up with her studies at Key West High School. She has been a member of the Key West High School Marching Band, the Bahama Village Music Program & a theatre actor with Keys Kids. Kaira has been performing since age 4 and aspires to be on Broadway someday. Not only does she play the guitar and drums, but the ukulele as well making her a very unique act. Kaira’s beautiful voice and crowd favorites strummed out on the ukulele is a Key West treat & must-see act around town."
